Hey sports fans!  I am back from my summer hiatus and hard at work to bring you weekly articles again.

I’m also creating a total website redesign of the blog to make it more interactive and add more content.  And, I am in the process of launching weekly podcasts through the NFL season.  So, stay tuned for those exciting new changes coming soon to the blog…

Speaking of football… A new College Football season is now underway.  I guess it’s time for me to pick a new team to root for.

You see, back in 2012 I decided to create a system of finding a team to follow throughout that season because I do not have an Alma Mater with college athletics and my Dad never watched the sport.

So, I put the names of the top 25 ranked teams in a hat and my plan was to pull out a new one every 2 weeks.  I called that article series: “I’m Crashing the BCS, Part I” and “I’m Crashing the BCS, Part II”.

Well, at the time, I didn’t get too far…

I pulled out Ohio State from the hat first and fell in love with that team right away.  I followed them for the rest of that season and just kept on rooting for them through 2015.

Lucky for me, 2012 was Coach Urban Meyer’s inaugural year and they went undefeated.  Unfortunately, OH was ineligible to go to that post season, but in 2013 they went undefeated and then to the Orange Bowl vs Clemson.  In 2014, the Buckeyes won the National Championship and last year, they won the Fiesta Bowl vs. Notre Dame.

Prior to my joining their bandwagon, Ohio State had not won the National Championship since 2002.  Maybe I was good luck?  Uhh, likely Urban Meyer has been the spark…

But, as fun as it was to be able to root for a very successful team, it is time for me to move on to a new team now.

Once again, I put the current top 25 ranked teams in a hat and (drum roll) I’m pulling out a new team…

(I’m doing this process as I write this..)

I picked 25th ranked Florida.

I will report back during the week when I’ve done my research on the team.  It appears they play their first game of the season tonight (Sat, Sept 3 at 7:30pm ET).

Go Gators!
